Cree led

Cree LED started as a company, a group from the State University of North Carolina, which is researching the use of silicon carbide as a core technology. In 1989, Cree created the first major silicon carbide application with the introduction of the world's first blue LED, the core technology that is present in most LEDs used today.

In the 1990s, Cree further refined silicon carbide LEDs and became a leader in the LED array industry. In 2006, Cree launched the industry's first LED-class LED, the XLamp XR-E LED. Designed specifically for its ability to deliver bright, consistent and efficient light, this breakthrough product marks the beginning of the LED lighting revolution.
