Duracell® is an American company founded in 1920 in Massachusetts, USA. Initially, the company specialized in the production of mercury batteries for military needs and equipment. A few years later, they started working on carbon-zinc battery technology, which is used in almost all applications. After WWII, in 1950, they created Kodak's first tube flash camera that required a new AAA battery. In 1964, the Duracell brand of Durable cell was introduced to the market.

Over the years, Duracell® has been committed to developing various technologies and techniques to create better and more durable batteries, and in 2011 they merged with Powermat Technologies Ltd. and start the production of wireless chargers for mobile devices. Duracell® manufactures alkaline and rechargeable batteries in sizes AAA, AA, C, D, and 9V, as well as less commonly used sizes such as AAAA.
