With the development of electronics and electrical engineering, the connection between cables and wires is of utmost importance. The strong connection between the components not only ensures the correct operation of the electrical components, but also creates convenience in service and repair. The main technology for joining different electronic components in different machines and devices is by soldering. This is not always the appropriate and convenient way of working. When soldering, we have prerequisites for corrosion, for loose connections, as well as the risk of a short circuit and, accordingly, damage to the components or incorrect operation of the device. This has created a prerequisite for the creation of cable lugs or also called cable shoes.
Cable ends help for a strong and secure connection between different components by protecting the wires from problems, access to moisture and dirt on the cables, as well as being convenient when it is necessary to quickly and easily connect and disconnect components during service or when changing the structure of the electrical devices. They are suitable for multi-core cables of various types, keeping them strong in a bundle, protecting them from mechanical damage and twisting. They are extremely useful in the construction of the car's electrical system, in the operation of different types of relays, timers and other electrical devices in electrical appliances such as dates, refrigerators, coffee machines, fans and various everyday appliances.
When choosing cable ends, cable shoes, we must take into account whether they should be insulated or not, depending on the place and conditions where they will be used, because this can lead to the incorrect operation of the electrical system.
Insulated cable lugs have a PVC insulating coating and are preferred in extreme conditions where the various wires or cables may be exposed to dirt, moisture or contact in metal housings or other materials that may cause a short circuit.
Unlike insulated tips, non-insulated tips should not be used in tight spaces where they may come into contact with different materials, other wires or electrical components, as this may cause a short circuit or damage to the electrical system. On the other hand, they are extremely suitable, for example, in ovens and stoves, fans and other electrical appliances exposed to different temperature amplitudes, where the insulation can interfere with the correct operation of the electrical system.
Depending on the application, cable lugs can be in the form of bushings (tubes) that can easily repair breaks in different wires or join pieces of wires together, as well as protect cables from breakage or injury. They can also be in the form of a lug with a bolt hole, so that the various wires can be clamped and thus withstand load, vibration or other extreme conditions without the risk of short circuit or looseness of the connection.
