History of SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC®

In the distant 1836 brothers Adolf and Joseph Schneider invest in one of the largest linear Creusot for iron and non-ferrous metal mining. Two years later, they found Schneider-Creusot and became leaders in the mining and processing of metals and the production of steel, heavy machinery, and assembly components for the transportation industry. After the death of the then owner of the company in 1960. Schneider-Creusot merges with the Belgian corporation Empain group, which is in the field of mining, production of elements and products for railway transport and electrical equipment. Mergers and Expansions

So in 1999 they acquired the Scandinavian company Lexel, which then specialized in the production of electrical switches and circuit breakers. The company was renamed Schneider Electric.

A few years later, the German company RIB Software, specialized in MES software, was acquired.
