Application

A connector for LAN cable type RJ45, designed for building, repairing and extending network cable connections in home, office and professional networks. Suitable for connecting internet cables to routers, switches, computers, IP cameras, access point devices, patch panels and other network devices. It is used both in new network installations and when replacing damaged connectors.

Connection and installation

The installation of a LAN connector to a network cable is done by crimping with special pliers for RJ45 jacks. First, part of the outer insulation of the cable is removed, then the wires are arranged according to the appropriate scheme (T568A or T568B). After aligning the wires, they are placed in the connector and crimped with a tool for RJ45 jacks, which ensures reliable contact between the wires and the pins of the connector. For easier and better installation, a cable stripping tool, a LAN cable tester and protective rubber grommets are often used.

LAN cable types and features

Cat. 5 – used in older network installations and Fast Ethernet connections;
Cat. 5e – suitable for Gigabit Ethernet and standard home and office networks;
Cat. 6 – provides higher speed and better protection against interference;
Cat. 6e – improved version with better features and higher bandwidth;
Cat. 6a – suitable for 10 Gigabit networks and professional installations;
Cat. 7 – with improved shielding and minimal electromagnetic interference;
UTP cables – unshielded, most often used in standard networks;
FTP/STP cables – shielded options for environments with more electromagnetic interference;
single-core LAN cables – suitable for permanent installations in walls and ducts;
multi-core LAN cables – more flexible and suitable for patch cables and frequent use.
