The chargers serve to charge car batteries, traction batteries and rechargeable batteries from the mains.
Types of loading
Charger for slow charging - This type of chargers are the now obsolete nickel-cadmium ones and have a fixed charge of 0.1C, which is one tenth of the nominal capacity. The slow charge charger does not have a function to indicate when the battery is charged. In general, it takes about 14 to 16 hours for such a charger to fully charge the corresponding battery.
Charger for fast charging - In terms of charging speed, these chargers rank in the middle. With them, the time required to charge the battery / accumulator is from 3 to 6 hours. When the battery is fully charged, the charger switches to "charged" mode. Many fast chargers have a temperature-sensing feature that allows them to safely charge a battery that has failed.
Charger for very fast charging (fast charging) - These chargers have more advantages than other types, but of course the biggest one is the speed of charging. In just over an hour, they can charge fully depleted NiCad and NiMH batteries to maximum.
