Application

Gel batteries and traditional batteries are actually lead-acid batteries, but gel batteries use a different electrolyte in the form of a gel, while traditional lead-acid batteries use a liquid electrolyte. Here are some advantages of gel batteries over conventional lead-acid batteries:

Maintenance-free - Gel batteries are typically maintenance-free, as the gel electrolyte is contained in a sealed system. This eliminates the need for regular water addition, a common requirement for traditional lead-acid batteries.

Vibration resistance - they are more resistant to vibration and shock, making them suitable for applications where the battery may experience movement or shock, such as in vehicles.

Deep discharge capability - Gel batteries typically have better tolerance to deep discharge than traditional lead-acid batteries. This makes them suitable for applications where occasional deep discharges may occur, such as in renewable energy systems.

Flexibility in mounting positions - They can be mounted in different positions (spatial orientation) without the risk of acid spillage, providing greater flexibility in terms of mounting compared to traditional lead-acid batteries.

Longer life cycle - Gel batteries typically have a longer life cycle than traditional lead acid batteries, especially when deep discharges are involved. This makes them a reliable choice for applications with frequent charge and discharge cycles.

Slow self-discharge - They typically have a lower self-discharge rate than conventional batteries, allowing them to hold their charge for longer periods without the need for frequent recharging.

Safe for indoor use - Due to the lack of free-flowing liquid electrolyte, gel batteries are considered safer for indoor use as there is no risk of acid spillage or fumes.

It is important to note that the choice between gel batteries and traditional lead acid batteries depends on the specific requirements of the application and each type has its own set of advantages and disadvantages.

by Цветелин Стойков , 25 Jun 2014

Взех си такъв акумулатор, върши ми чудесна работа. Доста добра цена за трайността, която дава. Бих си взел пак.

А дали са 9 ампер - часа ?

Взех десет бройки за UPS-ите в фирмата . Много съм доволен
