LED tube lights do not contain any toxic materials such as mercury (Hg) or lead (Pb), which are dangerous to humans and nature. The LED tubes emit more heat than the fluorescent tubes (at the same electrical power), so the luminaire needed to allow them to cool down enough. Otherwise it is possible to overheat and cease to function.
