What is a rechargeable battery?

A storage battery is a type of electric battery that consists of one or more electrochemical cells and is a type of energy storage. Rechargeable batteries come in many shapes and sizes, ranging from a button-sized battery to megawatt systems.

What combinations of substances are used in Accumulator Batteries?

Often several different combinations of substances are used in them:

• lead-acid
• nickel cadmium (NiCd)
• nickel metal hydride (NiMH)
• lithium-ion (Li-Ion)
• lithium-ion polymer (Li-ion polymer)

How do Accumulator Batteries affect the environment?

Rechargeable batteries have a lower total cost of use and do not impact the environment as much as disposable batteries. Some types of rechargeable batteries come in the same sizes as some disposable batteries. Rechargeable batteries have a higher initial cost, but can be recharged very cheaply and used many times afterwards.

The most common standard non-rechargeable batteries are the following types:

• AA batteries
• AAA batteries
• Batteries C
• Batteries D
• Batteries 9V
• Specialized

AA and AAA are probably the most common types of standard ordinary batteries, for the simple reason that they are present in almost all remote controls of our home audio-video equipment - television receivers, players, audio systems, as well as in remotes for air conditioning systems, heating appliances and more and more. They are also used in toys, wall clocks, small electrical appliances, etc. Usually their voltage is 1.5V, but there are some special models with a voltage of 3.6V.

C and D are larger cylindrical batteries with a voltage of 1.5V or 3.6V and find use in larger devices such as flashlights, children's toys, radios, music devices, emergency lighting, etc.

9V is also known by the slang name 9-volt battery. These are parallelepiped-shaped batteries with dimensions of approximately 46.5x26.5x17.5 mm. Widely used in various multimeters and measuring devices, children's toys, radios, radios, scales, sensors, etc.
